The lady raising her hand in the photo is Veronicah. She is 41 years old and blessed with three children. She is a member of Watuku Farmers Field & Life School Group, which joined Hand in Hand Eastern Africa to benefit from enterprise development and financial management training.
She is a dairy farmer. She is borrowing a Kiva loan to buy dairy feed. She hopes this will increase her milk production; hence, increasing her income. She will therefore use the anticipated income to provide food, clothing and medical care for her children.
She is grateful to Kiva and their lenders for the financial support and promises to repay promptly.
