A loan helped a member to buy dresses and materials for decoration.

Médina Fall Bokk Yenné Group's story

The banc villageois was established in December 2008 and is composed of resilient women who support each other. They live in the same neighborhood and nearby areas. It's a group of 5 women who took out special loans and are repaying them successfully.

Madame Oumou Diadié is a 51-year-old married woman and mother of five children, including one son. She is involved in the business of selling lightweight dresses and also provides decoration services for events. She represents the group and is standing on the right of the photo with one hand raised.

She plans to buy two packs of 20 dresses. For her decoration business, she will purchase two rolls of decorative paper, two boxes of flowers, various decoration hoops, and plenty of balloons.

She is doing well; the dresses are popular in the current hot season and they are affordable. Her decoration services are also in high demand in her neighborhood, especially weddings and baptisms.

With her profits, she will increase her savings in the banc villageois and also pay her interest. Another part will go toward contributions in the neighborhood’s savings group, or tontine.

In this group: Oumou Diadie, Tening, Anna, Ephygenie, Elisabeth Olga
