A loan helped a member to purchase seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, etc. for corn, paddy, vegetable, and fruit cultivation.

Saraswati And Group's story

Saraswati, a committed 20-year-old woman from Darjeeling, West Bengal, lives with her husband and their three children. Her husband grows paddy, brinjal, cabbage, and pineapple on their farmland, selling the harvest in local markets.

Despite their hard work, the income from farming remains modest and is not enough to secure the family’s long-term financial stability.

In hopes of improving their livelihood, Saraswati and her husband plan to expand into large-scale cultivation of corn, paddy, vegetables, and fruits.

To support this initiative, Saraswati, along with the women in her self-help group, is seeking a group loan of INR 125,000 through WeGrow, a field partner of Milaap. The loan will be used to buy seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other essential farming inputs.

This financial support will help them enhance agricultural productivity, increase household income, and move towards a more stable and prosperous future.

Saraswati, her group members, and their families are truly grateful for the generosity of kind lenders like you.
