A loan helped to buy compost, fertilizers, foliar sprays, and disinfectants for her cacao trees, as well as pay for labor.

Jaritza Elizabeth's story

Jaritza, age 29, is a responsible and hardworking mother. She lives with her three children in a wooden house located along the Ecuadorian coast. With effort and dedication, she was able to start cultivating cacao trees. Through this business, she has been able to sustain her household and provide for the needs of her children.

The care of her cacao trees requires constant investment in compost, fumigation, and labor. For this reason, Jaritza is requesting a loan so that she can keep her cacao crops in good condition, which will guarantee a quality harvest. In the future, she dreams of having a dryer and a drying platform, which would enable her to store cacao beans and sell them during the peak seasons when her production declines. These types of improvements would improve her earnings, secure financial stability, and strengthen her agricultural business.

Her greatest goal is to support her immediate family and provide for her children’s education so that they can become professionals. She would like to provide them with a future full of opportunities, thanks to her work in the fields.
