Sarah was born and raised on an organic farm in Switzerland, and quickly embraced a global outlook when completing her degree in international relations at the Graduate Institute for International and Development Studies in Geneva. She honed her entrepreneurial and leadership skills in AIESEC - the global youth network impacting the world through leadership development experiences. Working with companies while leading the activities of her local chapter and organizing a national conference on the topic of Corporate Responsibility showed her the impact responsible business practices can have on society and the environment. Most recently, Sarah used her ability to communicate with diverse audiences and to manage complex programs to develop Apple’s business in Swiss schools. Enhancing teaching and learning through technology has become a new passion for her. She now wants to add to her business experience and international relations background by learning more about microfinance as an efficient tool for poverty reduction. Having lived in India and Spain for several months at a time, she loves interacting with diverse cultures and discovering local delicacies. To do so she uses her fluent German, English, French and Spanish, as well as a few words of Mandarin Chinese that she picked up during a 6-week sabbatical to study the language in Shanghai in 2012. Her next challenge will be learning enough Guaraní, to be able to better buy some chipa in Paraguay.
