La Alegría Group's story

This group, called La Alegría, is in its 8th cycle of the women’s committee program. The women together with strong camaraderie and solidarity. The Semáforo program has not yet been applied to them, but they remain committed to moving forward and supporting one another.

Gladys is married and owns her home. She is one of the members and is investing her loan in purchasing materials for her handicrafts business. Her effort, commitment, and drive to improve herself are shaping her into a leader in her community—an inspiring example for the other women in her committee and her neighbors.
