Jagger's story

Aloha, my name is Jagger, and I am a farmer born and raised on Oahu. I moved to the Big Island a year ago to pursue a more nature-focused lifestyle and the opportunity to steward my own land. After years of dreaming about farming, I finally found a place where I can bring those plans to life.

My current focus is cultivating mamaki, a native Hawaiian plant valued for its tea and healing properties. Because mamaki thrives in partial shade, I plan to plant companion trees and create a diverse agroforestry system that supports the plant’s needs while enriching the ecosystem. Until the support species grow tall enough, I need help to provide temporary shade to protect the young plants.

In the coming months, I need your help to establish a vegetable field to grow a wide variety of local, organic produce. This next step will allow me to provide healthy, fresh food to nearby families, markets, and restaurants.

I am deeply passionate about sustainability, biodiversity, and the conservation of native Hawaiian species. My work is guided by a commitment to increase access to healthy, locally grown vegetables and to preserve the unique native plants of Hawaii. Through this farm, I aim to share the abundance of the land and inspire others to value and protect our natural resources.
