A loan of $11,000 helps a woman-owned business scale and make Kansas City homes beautiful!

Jana's story

I grew up working for my grandparent's commercial cleaning company in Kansas City, where I learned early on the value of hard work, accountability, and building something with your own hands. From ages 16 to 25 I cleaned car dealerships in North Kansas City, along Vivion Road and North Oak Trafficway. Although I despised the work when I was younger, being exposed to entrepreneurship at such a young age shaped how I see work and community. Now, as an adult, my ideology on the importance of starting small, sweat equity and helping to build communities is a driving factor and it directly inspired me to start my own property preservation business.

What motivates me is the opportunity to serve my community through honest work by maintaining and restoring properties while creating stability where it’s needed most. Like my grandparents, I started my company with very limited seed money. However, what is more imperative is my deep passion for Kansas City neighborhoods, driven by the belief that small, locally owned businesses play a critical role in keeping neighborhoods strong and thriving and beautiful.
