Pramodini And Group's story

Pramodini, a 54-year-old married woman from the Imphal East district of Manipur, is responsible for a household of five members. She operates a weaving business, generating a monthly income of INR 22,000. In addition, Pramodini leads a group of eight talented weavers.

She understands that increasing her income and gaining greater control over it would significantly boost her economic independence. This would not only empower her to build wealth and become self-reliant but would also have a positive impact on her family and community through collective growth. Unfortunately, financial limitations are preventing her from expanding her weaving business. Pramodini aspires to buy weaving threads in bulk and grow her business to produce and sell Phanek, Bedsheets, Khudei, and Fadi. She also wishes to invest in the other weavers in her group to join forces in this expansion.

To realize her vision, Pramodini has applied for a loan of INR 440,000 from Chanura, a field partner of Milaap. This loan will enable her to purchase threads in bulk, allowing her to support her family’s basic needs and continue her children’s education.

Pramodini and her group of weavers would be immensely grateful for any assistance in this endeavor.
